Amalgam Jaguar E Type Lightweight 'Car Zero' 1:8 scale

In 1963, British car makers, Jaguar started a special GT E-Type project, to create a series of all-alloy, race-inspired lightweight E-Types. Only 12 of the 18 planned examples were built at that time and the remaining six allocated chassis numbers were left unused. In 2014, Jaguar Land Rover’s newly formed Special Operations division decided to build the remaining six cars to the original 1964 specification, to be sold as period competition vehicles suitable for historic motorsport.

The body shell, like the first 12 examples built in the sixties, saves a significant 114kgs from the production steel bodied E-Type and the engine is the same 3.8 litre straight-six unit with aluminium block. The prototype car for the ‘new’ six examples was named ‘Car Zero’ and was tested extensively at Jaguar Land Rover’s Gaydon test track in the UK.

With fully opening bonnet, door and boot. Fully detailed engine, boot and interior, with seatbelt harnesses. The attention to detail is incredible and is an exact scale copy of the original car registration 376 SG. With festidious research and scanning of the original car done by Amalgam in full co-operation and scrutiny from Jaguar cars. The model sits on the Amalgam leather covered display plinth with plaques detailing the car and comes with the original perspex cover. Only 13 of this model were ever made, all were sold. This particular model was commissioned by Jaguar Cars near Coventry, UK and I believed to be the only model with racing roundals on the doors. The model in unopened from new, still in it's original wrapping from 2015. This is the only opportunity to but this stunning model in totally un displayed condition.
This is a truly stunning model measuring around 55 cms in length and 70 cms including the base.
