Javan Smith 1:8 scale Ferrari 500 F2
This is a fine 1:8 large scale model of the Ferrari 500 F2, as driven to victory by Alberto Ascari in the 1952 RAC Grand Prix at Silverstone.
A charming, superbly made, scratch built model, unsually credited to Javan Smith but made by his son Brendan who Javan trained to become a superb master model maker in his own right . This is a really beautiful model, highly detailed with fabulous cockpit, suspension and brake/wheel detailing, sitting on its original turned alluminium base with plaque detailing the model and limited edition number 06/100 (Though it is unlikley 100 were ever made) and made in the year 2000 and signed by Javan Smith on the underside of the base. The model will be supplied with a brand new clear perspex display cover.
An superb, highly desireable, rare and interesting handbuilt model that would grace any model collection. One previous owner from new, in excellent condition. The model measures approx. 45cms and 62cms including the base.
