Amalgam 1:8 scale Maserati 250F #1 Fangio
This is a fabulous 1:8 scale model by the high end model makers Amalgam, of the Maserati 250F, as driven by Juan Manuel Fangio to vistory at the Nurburgring in the 1957 German Grand Prix. The 22 lap race, considered to be one of Fangio's greatest victories, beat Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins in the Ferrari's and Stirling Moss in his Vanwall.
With only 50 ever made, this is an exact copy in every detail of that car. Believed to be the only model made with the correct engine cover without the bubble (all other Amalgam 250F models were based on a later version of the car with the bubble in the engine cover. It was built in the UK before Amalgam moved its model making to China. The model sits on a its original stylish wooden plinth with a black base with plaques detailing the model and the limited edition number 25/50 and is covered by a perspex case. It also comes with the Certificate of Authenticity from Amalgam. This one owner from new model measures approx. 60 cms in length, is a very rare and not to be missed.
